Scholarship Examination is an competitive examination held in std 8th. The above Exam is conducted by MAHARASHTRA STATE COUNCIL OF EDUCATION {MSCE}. These exams are conducted since year 1954. Earlier , only few students were selected and were able to appear for this exam. But from year 2008, any student is eligible to appear for this examination whether he /she is from ICSE, CBSE, SSC board. These exams are conducted every year in month of February or March over 6.5 lakhs of 8th std students appear for this exam. This exam can be given in both English and Marathi mediums.

PAPER I ENGLISH: 25 QUESTIONS = 50 MARKS MATHS: 50 QUESTIONS = 100 MARKS
PAPER II MARATHI: 25 QUESTIONS = 50 MARKS INTELLIGENCE TEST: 50 QUESTIONS = 100 MARKS
  • Candidate must be in std 8th and age must be 14 years.
  • Candidate must belong to recognized Aided or Unaided school.
  • Candidates are required to pay Entrance fees and Exam fees to schools approx. in the month of October i.e. Rs 20 and Rs. 60 respectively for both standards which sums up to Rs. 80 in total.
  • Candidates must submit their scanned passport size photograph and signature respectively.
  • Candidates appearing for this examination are also liable to submit Aadhar card and Banking details.

♦ IMPORTANT POINTS


  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • There is NO NEGATIVE MARKING system.
  • Paper 1 is conducted by 11:00 to 12:30pm and Paper 2 is conducted by 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
  • For each Paper time allotted is 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Use of Black/ Blue ball pen is compulsory.Students are restricted to overwrite, scribble as marks will not be allotted to them.
  • Papers will be evaluated with OMR process.
  • Options will be given in form of A B C D.
  • For standard 8th , ONE option out of Four is correct and students need to choose that option wisely.
  • Reporting time to the exam center is 10:00/11:00 am

♦ SCHOLARSHIP:


  • In order to be eligible for the Scholarship reward, candidate must pass the entire examination.
  • Minimum passing for this exam is 40%.
  • Candidates belonging to STATE BOARD only schools are eligible for the amount.
  • Candidates who are in 5 th std are allotted Rs. 100 monthly till next three years.
  • CBSE and ICSE BOARD schools provide certificates to the deserving candidates respectively.
  • Scholarship deserving candidates are evaluated on the basis of the marks scored according to the cut- off list.
